“If you were to ask one of my close friends or family members about me, I feel like they would tell you I am someone who smiles often and never quits laughing or joking. They would also say I LOVE to dance and swing my hips….but some of those pics are explicit so here is one of me laughing. It is classic Whit.”
Q: Is there a person that you look up to that inspires the career moves you’ve made so far? This can be a person you know, or a public figure (dead or alive).
A: I think someone I look up to, respect and am inspired by is my mom. We are not on the same career path, but I have watched her through my life and have a huge amount of respect for her work ethic. She puts in 120% every day whether she is at work, working out, or loving on family and friends.
Q: Is there something you learned as a child that taught you something profound that you carry with you as a young professional?
A: I would say that over the past several years I have learned that situations don’t have to define you as a person, but they can mold and shape you. For a long time, I thought that my downfalls defined me, but I think it is what happens to us (good or bad) that can inspire the individual we are striving to be.
Q: What is the hardest lesson you’ve learned in your career so far?
A; You cannot succeed without failing. Mistakes happen and they are part of growing into a professional. No one enjoys failure, but when you change your perspective of it, it can open doors and provide opportunity.
Q: If you were to write an autobiography, what would it be titled?
A: Pop, Lock, and Drop It Till You Make It
Q: If you knew you would be forced to leave Chattanooga in 1 year from today, what would you like to accomplish here before you go?
A; Being from Chattanooga, I have had the pleasure of enjoying the greatness and growth of our city for 26 years. That said, I feel like I would spend my last year being intentional with my family and friends here that have made my chapters in CHA so great! Quality time is priceless!
